I thought I'd share pictures with you of my latest party - it was a Formal Dress/Victorian/Steampunk Christmas/Yule/Whatever Holiday you celebrate this time of year get-together.

I was very impressed with how many people came properly attired. I've never seen so many top-hatted gentlemen in one room. Heaven!!

Results! [13 Dec 2005|05:49am]
The votes are in! Thanks to all the teaming millions who submitted photos and then harshly judged the final cut. My black little heart thanks you.

The Grand winner is Ms. Lee, with her 30s tomboy style. Here she is, remodeled in stunning 2-D.

However, due to my inability to decide on anything (and cause I think the hat is really cool) I created a Second prize for the lovely Ms. Bulloff who now has two new shiny LJ icons.

Again, thanks for parrticipating. Keep watching for the next contest of lads-only dandyism.

Happy Dressing.

Tradition is usually thought of as something that is wheeled out for veneration on special occasions, or is worshipped like a totem by people with a fetish for the tradition. Last night of the proms, that sort of thing.
But just this week I started to think of it another way.
resurrecting tradition for the aestheteCollapse )
