|Ah! Spring, when a young man's love turns to thoughts of fancy...
||[06 Jun 2005|12:37pm]
Here in the northern climes our winters are long and bitter. In springtime, therefore, the populace is filled with an exuberance and vigor that borders on the unseemly. Many of my fellow northmen find themselves tempted, with the warming of the earth, to don sandals, short-pants, and those sleeveless shirts commonly named for their appropriateness when disciplining one's spouse. In an attempt to cool this vulgar ardor I will be holding a salon for the presentation and defense of my undergraduate thesis entitled:
The Triumph of the Whim,
Dandyism and the Aesthetic Process.
The afternoon's entertainments will include the performance of my Pastiches for Piano Solo, to be accompanied by various Suits of Clothes arranged and modeled by myself, and a short lecture in defense of this thesis, in which I will demonstrate the various connections between the Art of Dandyism and the age of Post-Modernity in which we live. If you make your home in these northern environs and find yourself tempted to acquiesce to Spring's temptations, please attend: it is completely free of charge.
